  1. Danny Kaye (born David Daniel Kaminsky) was a fantastic actor and comedian.

My first wife and I were eating at a Japanese restaurant in SF (in the 1970's, I think), and Mr. Kaye was eating there, too, with a woman. It turned out that we all got up to leave about the same time, and I briefly thanked him for all the viewing pleasure he had given to me (I had seen many of his movies).

  2. I mentioned some time ago that I would be out of touch for a while taking care of another relative. It was my wife, who unexpectedly was found have a large brain tumor (per an MRI done on March 7). The tumor was taken out on March 18 during a 3+ hour surgery. Thank goodness, it was benign. She is still recovering from the after effects of the operation, but at least her speech and dexterity problems have improved, although not yet completely. She has been through so much. I love her, and it has been difficult to see her suffer.

  3. Dear MikeB,
Sorry for my lapse, but I've been away from my blog for some weeks - and I am so very sorry to come back to read about your wife's condition. It is always so very heartwrenching to watch someone you love suffer, and I am sending healing thoughts to her and to you. It is good that she you there to care for her.
